Hounslow Business Awards celebrate local business achievements

Local business people gathered last week (28 February) to celebrate the sixth annual Hounslow Business Awards in a glittering ceremony at the Hilton Syon Park, Brentford.

Hosted by Hounslow Chamber of Commerce, in association with Heathrow Airport as headline sponsor, the Hounslow Business Awards recognise and reward the achievements of the local business community across the whole of the London Borough of Hounslow.

The awards were the culmination of a day of business activities, with the third Hounslow Festival of Business Expo taking place earlier in the day. The Expo gave businesses the opportunity to meet exhibitors, network with each other and attend workshops, all aimed at helping them develop and grow their companies.

In the evening, the awards began with a drinks’ reception at the Hilton Syon Park, where guests networked with each other before being treated to a sumptuous three-course gala dinner, followed by the awards ceremony.

David Blackmore, TV and radio presenter and regular on ITV’s This Morning, hosted the ceremony, with awards presented by category sponsors in front of an audience of nearly 150 people.

Awards were presented in ten categories, including best SME, entrepreneur of the year, innovator of the year and independent business of the year. All category winners were put forward for the coveted title of overall ‘Business of the Year’.

The Business of the Year award was presented to the Clayton Hotel Chiswick, who were also Best Business for Customer Service category winner.

Speaking at the ceremony Sally Smith, chief operating officer of Hounslow Chamber of Commerce, said: “I am highly impressed by the quality, enthusiasm and passion of the businesses that enter these awards. Your award-winning Chamber of Commerce, in business itself for 110 years, celebrates daily the incredible innovation, success, investment and growth of our business community.
