Hanworth Air Park was built right next to a grand old house, Hanworth Park House (HPH). After the war HPH became a hotel and being so close to the Aston Martin Lagonda premises became quite useful to the company, including acting as a back-drop for publicity photos.
HPH has been derelict for many years, but there is now a group of local conservationists working together to try and save the house from demolition, with an idea to turn it into a mixture of housing and community uses including a small museum. The group are called the Friends of Hanworth Park House and they have already made a good start with fundraising, lottery assistance etc.
As part of the fundraising activity they held a small cars show at the house in September which invited people to come along to support the Friends of Hanworth Park. They had some wonderful cars on display and held a wonderful event that was attended by some of our directors.
